Tehran (ISNA) – Two Iranian films won three awards at 2018 Golden Apricot International Film Festival in Yerevan, Armenia.
“A Sunset Truck” directed by Abolfazl Saffary won the best film and the best actor awards and “Yeva” directed by Anahit Abad claimed the best screenplay award at the festival.
The 15th film festival ended in Yerevan and eventually the film “Yeva” directed by Anahit Abad won the best film in the “Armenia Panorama Cinema” and the best actor for Shant Hovhannisyan.
The best screenplay award went to Sajjad Afsharian and Abolfazl Saffary for “A Sunset Truck”.
Both films were attended in the part of Armenia Panorama Cinema.
In the main competition category which Asghar Farhadi was its chairman, the Golden Apricot award went to the “Volcano” directed by Roman Bondarchuk co-product of Ukraine and Germany and Silver Apricot award went to “Fortuna” directed by Germinal Roaux from Swiss.
The documentary of “20th Circuit Suspects” by Hesam Eslami was attend in the festival as a representative of Iran`s cinema.
This year, Asghar Farhadi`s Spanish language film “Everybody knows” screened on the non-competitive Golden Apricot and Farhadi were honored by awarding a lifetime cinematic achievement for his dramatic role in the world of cinema.
